Update
Life is good.... we went to Brussels a couple of week-ends ago and had a blast. We were wrecked though as we woke up very early on Saturday and still missed our outbound flight and waited ages at the airport for the next one, so we were exhausted by the time we got there, but the spirits were high and the week-end was great. Now, you're going to say that I've been living on my island for too long, but there is a very continental vibe to Brussels. For instance, there was a free, outdoor alterglobalist concert with world music, rap, reaggae, on saturday night. People from all backgrounds were standing around, a lot of hippies or baba cool as we like to call them in French, smoking spliffs and drinking beer. Very continental atmosphere indeed. There is also a truly international, multilingual, multicultural feel. It's a little weird though when you talk to people in French, as you would expect to in Brussels, and Flemmish people staring back at you and not having a clue what you're talking about...

We also did a bit of a comics tour:

And of course, we ate the mussels and chips, and drank the beer (the Kriek Bellevue cerise made my day).
