Hate, Lies and Video

Here they go again. Yesterday, Al-Qaeda rediscovered the joy of visual production and sent nice video tapes aimed at the evil Western World.

So, Osama says “hi”. Hold on a minute… Didn’t that happen before? Let’s think a second and dig deep in our memories. A plane-crash on two towers… A war in Afghanistan…. A war in Iraq…..The Global War on Terror…. Osama....
Saddam somehow got into the equation (go ask George) and stole the show.
I think we went off track at some point.

So, two wars and Osama and Al Qaeda are still around. Actually, they’re around now more than ever. Iraq, despite an undeniable dictatorship, used to be terrorist-free, but then George’s war made it the global headquarter for terror fanatics and gave terrorists an actual reason for their action.
And it doesn’t sound too good. A.Q, in their usual friendly and welcoming video messages, threatened yesterday to continue the killings for as long as the western invaders would occupy their country. And the worst thing is: they have a point. The West calls them terrorists, they call themselves freedom fighters. On the other hand, the West will not bend before terror. They have a point too: granting them their request will only justify their means, and that’s not something anybody wants.
This is a tricky situation we're in.

After the London bombings, I haven’t heard one single mainstream news media outlet ask questions as to why we’re still in deep shit after two wars, or questioning their usefulness and legitimacy, or the integrity, trustworthiness and international relation skills of the U.S and U.K.’s George and Tony who merely took their revenge on innocent middle-eastern citizens who never asked for anything in the first place.
If those wars were useful, it would be showing now. And it only shows the opposite. Terrorists keep killing, extremism keeps growing, and hate keeps spreading... on both sides. George says “see, it is proof Iraq is an evil terrorist place”… as if he could ever say something clever. George, this new Iraqi terrorist concentration is the result of the war, not its cause. So don’t try to bullshit us again.

From New York to Bagdad, from Bali to Madrid, from London to Kaboul, it’s always innocent citizens who end up paying with their lives. And those taking global decisions motivated by personal interests and egos are well hidden in their ivory towers splashing their mountains of cash.
What a wonderful world.
