Ok. Let me get this straight.
I've been looking for a Sales & Marketing position for ages, and never even got shortlisted for an interview. Lack of experience, they say.
Then I get an interview last week, the interview went brillantly, the company sounds greats. The lads were obviously impressed and even asked me if I'd taken some interview-skill classes.
And then I get this e-mail:
[...] You have a fantastic cv and we were very taken with your professional approach and undoubted ability. However, both [name of the MD] and I feel that you are over qualified for the job we have to offer [...] Speaking honestly, I believe that you would become very bored within a number of months and would not find the challenging role that you desire and deserve [...]
I wasn't asking for that much consideration about my expectations, thank you very much. I just wanted that job!!!
It seems that the they-need-you-more-than-you-need-them approach to job interview backfired somehow.
