Wankers!

There is something I love the Brits for: their sense of innovation, craziness and interest in everything that's unusual.
Take for example Big Brother's final on Friday. Okay, I'm not too much into BB, but the British version has such unusual, different people, and they never take themselves too seriously. This year, Pete, a guy with Tourette's syndrome won the game. Difficult not to love the guy though, so genuinely nice and wise, he keeps screaming "Wankers!" every other word, jumping all over the place when he's excited, and hitting his throat to avoid further uncontrollable words to come out of his mouth. He's gone through a lot, and now handles his condition with a sharp sense of humour. And he's now won notoriety and 100,000 quids. You go, lad!

In My Life section:
I've found a new video shop with a huge world cinema section. I'm so glad! I was getting sick of my local shop who was only offering Hollywood blockbusters, which after a while is a bit limited culture-wise. So now I get to watch flms from Korea (Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, A Tale of two sisters), France (Irréversible), Mexico (y tu mama tambien)... I still have my eyes on Germany, Hong-Kong, Spain... God, I can't stop renting DVDs now, I'm going mad!

Elvis hasn't come in over a month now. We haven't even seen him in the neighbourhood. I miss him. A guy I work with told me he might be dead (I work with very nice people indeed!) but I like to think he might have moved home or gone to holiday with his family. So I'll keep waiting for his return, like a broken-hearted soldier's wife. *sob*.
